Mobile elevation platforms are often used to access areas of work at heights. They, however, are not immune from risks of falling by the operator, who could be thrown beyond the platform guards due to sudden oscillation of the same.
A – The simplest solution for preventing the risk of the operator being thrown is the use of a full body harness to which an adjustable lanyard is secured. Securing this to the appropriate anchoring points on the platform and appropriately adjusting the length, the operator will remain anchored to the surface of the platform even in the event of dangerous vertical oscillations.
Should the risk of falling off the platform persist, the use of a rope with energy absorber or a retractable fall arrester must be evaluated.
